    A shipping label is generated for you, both directions.

    Confirm it arrived and the deposits release. Trade closed.

Questions

Is TOAT free to use?

Trading item for item is free. When cash is part of an offer, TOAT takes a small platform fee on the cash portion, and takes nothing at all on your first three trades. Card processing fees still apply whenever money moves; those go to the payment processor, not to us.

What can I trade on TOAT?

Clothing and art, to start. We’d rather do two categories properly than ten badly — more will open up as the community grows.

How does a trade actually work?

You browse listings and send an offer: your own item, cash, or a mix of both. If the other person accepts, you each put down a refundable deposit, ship within the window, and confirm when it arrives. Deposits release and the trade closes.

Do I need to meet up in person?

No. A shipping label is generated for both directions, so you can trade with someone across the country without arranging a handoff.

What is Trade Protection?

Both sides put down a refundable deposit before anything ships, held until the swap completes. It means neither person is the one taking all the risk — and it’s what makes trading with a stranger reasonable.

What if something goes wrong?

You can open a dispute from inside the trade. We review what happened and decide where the deposits go, so a trade that falls apart doesn’t just leave you out of pocket.

When can I start trading?

TOAT is in private beta now. The waitlist opens up in the order people join, so joining early moves you up.
